FAQ

  • How much will it cost?

One of the most important questions that customers ask but, unfortunately, impossible to answer specifically. The cost of any job, naturally, depends on the number of windows and doors installed, their size and design, as well as the type of materials from which they are made. There is also the question of the individual budget. Our knowledgeable and helpful staff are able to give quotations over the phone (after a general discussion of requirements), or a home visit can be arranged where one of our sales representatives will discuss your specific requirements with you.

  • How do I pay? Do you have a payment plan?

We do not expect our customers to pay all monies upfront. After agreeing the price, we will ask you to sign a legally-binding contract and a small deposit will then need to be paid by you. The balance will be collected by our workers on completion of the installation.

We do not operate payment plans, being anxious to keep the cost of the work as low as possible to our customers.

  • How is my product guaranteed?

As a company we guarantee our installations with respect to manufacturing and labour for 10 years (which is the industry standard). Glass and sealed units are guaranteed for 5 years.

  • What happens if you cease trading?

We provide an insurance-backed guarantee, in the unlikely event of the company ceasing to trade, but mostly for our customers' peace of mind. This means that in the event that we cease to operate as a business, you will continue to be covered, should there be a problem with the installed windows or doors.

  • How long have Clear Windows been in business?

The company started manufacturing and trading in 1997 and has been growing and extending its product range ever since.

  • Why are the materials you use so good?

Our sourcing policy on raw materials and components relies not only on our suppliers' prices, but also (and to a large extent) on quality. We work only with reputable suppliers, be it in relation to glass, extrusions, locks, handles, etc.

  • How do I know that your workers are of the highest standard?

All of our workers (and particularly our installers) are appraised periodically, both by frequent site inspections during installations and also by way of customer feedback.

  • Do you make your own products?

We are a direct manufacturer. We do not buy ready-made products for resale to our customers. We buy only the basic components for our products (such as glass sheets, locks, extrusions, etc) and from these we continue to make our own windows, doors and conservatories.

  • How can I be assured of minimum disruption to my property whilst the works are carried out?

All of our workers will endeavour to minimise disruption to your property, as well as being polite and courteous at all times. They will remove what is necessary and then install just a few windows at a time, taking care of furniture and fittings, and using dustsheets to cover and protect the working area. Special care will be given to bathrooms and kitchens, in particular to baths, washbasins, kitchen worktops and sinks.

If any problems arise during the installation, our office staff will be more than happy to help you.
